Privacy policy
Last updated
This privacy policy applies to the Unwind app (“Application”) for mobile devices and to the Unwind website at unwindbehavior.com, both provided by Identity Mad LLC (“Service Provider”) as a Freemium service. It explains how information is handled across both.
Information Collection and Use
The Application collects information when you use it, including:
- Your device’s operating system and general device information
- Anonymous usage analytics (such as time spent in the Application and feature usage), collected through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service that does not collect personally identifiable information
- Account information when you sign in using Sign in with Apple, which may include the name and email address (or Apple private relay address) you choose to share
- The personal data you enter about your dogs (such as profiles, logs, and walk data), which is stored and synced as described below
On-Device Data Storage
The personal data you enter into the Application (such as your dogs’ profiles, logs, and walk data) is stored on your device and synced to backend infrastructure operated by the Service Provider through Supabase. This allows your data to sync across your devices and, where you enable it, to be shared with others in your household.
This data is protected so that other users cannot access it. The Service Provider can access your data to operate, maintain, support, and secure the Application. The Service Provider does not sell your data and does not share it except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Sharing With Your Trainer
If you choose to invite a dog trainer or behavior professional, they get read-only access to your household’s record through the Unwind trainer portal. This sharing is entirely optional and only ever starts with an invite you create in the Application.
A trainer you invite can see: your dogs’ profiles and photos, the entries you log (walks, activities, incidents, care events, and encounters, including any photos and notes), the approximate locations of encounters you record during walks, the statuses and guidance the Application has shown you, and gaps in your logging. GPS traces of your walk routes are never shared, and trainers cannot see your email address or the email addresses of others in your household.
You can revoke a trainer’s access at any time from the Application, and revocation takes effect immediately. Trainers cannot edit or delete anything in your record.
Feedback Collection
If you choose to submit feedback through the Application, your responses are collected anonymously via Airtable. No personally identifiable information is collected through the feedback form.
Third-Party Services
The Application utilizes the following third-party services, each with their own Privacy Policy:
Communications
We use the email address associated with your account to send you service and account messages, such as security notices and important changes to the Application. If you opt in, we may also send occasional product updates, which you can stop at any time using the unsubscribe link in those emails. Opting out of product updates does not affect service messages.
Opt-Out Rights
You can stop the collection of analytics data by uninstalling the Application using the standard uninstall process on your mobile device.
You can delete your account and the personal data associated with it at any time from within the Application, or by contacting the Service Provider at support@identitymad.com. Deleting your account removes your personal data from the Service Provider’s backend, subject to the retention exceptions described below.
You can opt out of product update emails using the unsubscribe link in any such email. Service and account messages are part of using the Application and continue while your account is active.
Data Retention Policy
The Service Provider retains the personal data you enter for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your personal data is removed from the Service Provider’s backend, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Anonymous analytics data and feedback submissions are retained for a reasonable period to improve the Application. If you’d like to request deletion of any data associated with your feedback, please contact support@identitymad.com.
Children
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact the Service Provider at support@identitymad.com so that the necessary actions can be taken.
Security
The Service Provider is committed to safeguarding the confidentiality of your information and provides appropriate safeguards to protect information processed and maintained by the Application.
The Unwind Website
When you contact us through the support form on the website, we collect the name, email address, and message you provide. These are processed through Web3Forms and emailed to us, and we use them only to respond to you.
The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which measures traffic without cookies and without collecting personal information.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes by updating this page. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
This privacy policy is effective as of the date last updated, shown above.
